Adolescent GYN
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
recommends that a girl make her first visit to a gynecologist
when she is between the ages of 13 and 15. Most girls will
NOT need a pelvic exam during this initial visit, though.
Many gynecologists will just do a regular health exam and
talk to the girl about her development. If you have
problems with periods, missed periods, pain, signs of
infection, or worries about development, it's a good
idea to see a doctor who specializes in teenage gyn
issues. Let us help you by calling 956-668-9100 to
make an appointment.
